The journey of Voices for Animal Welfare began with a single spark: a deep passion for animals and a firsthand realization of the gaps in their legal protection. While volunteering in South Africa and Tanzania, our founder and president, Vanessa Vichi, witnessed the harsh realities faced by animals in regions where legislation often falls short. From the majestic wildlife in conservation areas to the vulnerable domestic animals in local communities, it became clear that there was an urgent need for stronger protections and greater awareness.
Motivated by these experiences, Vanessa set out to create a platform that could bridge the gap between Europe and Africa, combining expertise from both continents to bring about lasting change. She believed that by empowering local communities through education, legal advocacy, photography and veterinary, it was possible to improve the welfare of animals and foster a culture of compassion.
Thus, Voices for Animal Welfare was born—an international NGO, registered in both Europe and Africa, and committed to promoting animal welfare through law, science, art, and education. Today, VFAW connects volunteers, legal experts, veterinarians, photographers and educators across the globe to create a meaningful impact on animal welfare, while working tirelessly to build a brighter, safer future for animals worldwide.
At Voices for Animal Welfare, our commitment to animal welfare is unwavering, and the strategic investment of funds is crucial to achieving our mission. Here is how we plan to allocate the resources entrusted to us :
By strategically investing in these areas, Voices for Animal Welfare aims to create a sustainable impact on animal welfare and build a compassionate society where animals are treated with the respect and care they deserve.
