Join Voices for Animal Welfare (VFAW) and Aymak Attorneys for a unique internship program in Arusha, Tanzania. This hands-on experience combines legal training and animal welfare advocacy, offering you the opportunity to improve Tanzanian animal laws while immersing yourself in its rich culture and wildlife.

Participants will:

  • Assist lawyers with legal research, drafting documents, and preparing cases.
  • Focus on wildlife cases while supporting other legal matters based on the law firm’s agenda.
  • Participate in afternoon animal law workshops with experts.
  • Contribute to outreach programs promoting animal welfare and legal reforms.

  • Gain legal experience in wildlife and animal law.
  • Work alongside lawyers and attend hearings.
  • Participate in animal law workshops led by experts.
  • Contribute to community outreach and legal reforms.
  • Enjoy weekend safaris and cultural activities.

  • Law students, legal professionals, and students in humanities or political science.
  • Must be 18+ years old and fluent in English.
  • Rabies vaccination and a laptop are required.

Morning (9:00 AM – 2:00 PM):
  • Work in a law firm with experienced attorneys.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Assist in cases, including those related to wildlife law.
Afternoon (3:00 PM – 5:00 PM):
  • Join animal law workshops to develop strategies and educational materials.
  • Collaborate with experts to improve legal frameworks.
Evenings and Weekends:
  • Relax at the lodge with a pool and bar.
  • Participate in optional cultural activities or safaris.
  • Safari Excursions to Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater included!

  • Accommodation: Shared triple rooms in a lodge featuring a swimming pool.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Dinner, and Lunch snacks.
  • Workshops: Led by Animal Law Professionals.
  • Safari Experience: 3-day Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater Camping Safari.
  • Airport Transfers: Pick-up and drop-off.

Not Included: Flights, visas, insurance, vaccinations, and personal expenses.

Your participation directly supports local animal welfare projects, including:

  • Building animal shelters.
  • Funding animal treatments.
  • Supporting local NGOs and education programs.

You can choose to join the program for one or more of the following months. The minimum duration is one month, and the maximum duration is four months.

Tanzania is known for its biodiversity and iconic wildlife but faces challenges in animal protection laws. This program combines legal advocacy with cultural exploration, enabling you to make a lasting impact while experiencing Tanzania’s beauty.
