Frequently Asked Questions About Our Programs & Organization

Applying is simple! Visit our Programs page and choose the program you are interested in. Each program page contains detailed information and a link to the application form. Fill in your details, and our team will get back to you shortly.

Our programs are carefully planned to align with our partner and staff members' schedules, wildlife seasons, and community needs. This allows us to offer meaningful, hands-on experiences while ensuring our programs have a positive impact on both participants and the communities we work with.

Most of our programs are designed to be one month or longer to provide participants with comprehensive training and real-world experience. However, depending on the program, shorter stays may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • A laptop + charger

Yes! Tanzania is a welcoming and safe destination for visitors. VFAW takes your safety seriously and we follow strict safety protocols throughout our programs. You will also receive pre-arrival guidance to help you prepare.

VFAW is a non-profit organization. The program fee you pay covers essentials like accommodation, meals, transport for all program activities, and airport transfers (depending on your package).

The fee also contributes directly to animal welfare projects on the ground. VFAW does not make direct profit from these costs. A portion goes to NGO operations and is fully reinvested into the development and continuation of our animal welfare work.

Our team is entirely volunteer-based. Running a non-profit includes real and ongoing operational costs that are essential to sustain our mission. Your fee helps make that possible.

There are many ways to support VFAW’s mission:
  • Join one of our programs
  • Make a donation
  • Sponsor a community project
  • Spread awareness by sharing our work on social media
  • Volunteer your skills remotely (graphic design, translation, research, etc.)
Visit our Join Us page for more ideas!
